QUEZON CITY— The camp of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy is confident that child and sexual abuse case filed against the pastor at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 106 will be dismissed.

Quiboloy's lawyers attended the hearing on Wednesday, but the pre-marking of the presented pieces of evidence was delayed again.

“It’s not finished. As you know we have voluminous documents to be marked so it was reset to another day but within the month of October” according to Atty. Israelito Torreon, legal counsel for Quiboloy.

They are confident that the pastor will be acquitted, similar to the case previously dismissed by the Davao City Prosecutor’s Office in 2020.

“You have to realize that these cases were already dismissed by the [Davao] City Prosecutor’s office in the past. But these were only revived during the height of the senate investigation by Sen. Risa Hontiveros. They have their own version, but we have stronger version which will prove the innocence of Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy,” Torreon said

"Yes. As long as the sun rises in the East, we believe in his innocence,” he added.

DAVAO POLICE CHIEF'S PROMOTION

Quiboloy’s camp believes that Davao Regional Police Chief PBGen. Nicolas Torre III was destined for promotion following the pastor’s surrender.

“Maybe it’s already written in the stars for him. Maybe that is his destiny. I’m happy for him. I hope he will do what is best for the country since he is already the head of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group,” Torreon said.

Quiboloy’s pre-trial for the child and sexual abuse case is set for October 2, while the trial for the qualified human trafficking case is scheduled for October 17.
