MANILA – The Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 167 has issued a commitment order against former Bamban mayor Alice Guo for her non-bailable qualified trafficking case in connection with the operation of illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).

In the decision of Presiding Judge Annielyn Medes-Cabelis, the court ordered the transfer of Guo from the Philippine National Police custodial facility in Camp Crame to the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory.

The court also ordered the transfer of Guo’s co-accused Walter Wong Long from the Tarlac Provincial Jail to the Pasig City Jail Male Dormitory.

“All the accused in these cases are not entitled to post bail as the charges against them are all non-bailable,” said Medes-Cabelis.

The court issued an arrest warrant against other accused who are still at-large, namely Huang Zhiyang, Rachelle Joan Malonzo Carreon, Zhang Ruijin, Baoying Lin, Yu Zheng Can, Dennis Cunanan, Jamielyn Cruz, Roderick Pujante, Juan Miguel Alpas, Merlie Joy Castro, Rita Yturralde, Rowena Evangelista, Thelma Laranan and Maybelline Millo aka Shana Yiyi.

The court noted that for all the accused, it found probable cause to hold trial for the crimes charged against them.

The court scheduled the arraignment and pre-trial conference for Guo and Long on September 27 at 8:30 a.m.

Guo is facing a separate graft case before the Valenzuela court for allegedly using her position to facilitate the operations of a gambling hub in Bamban.

The Philippine National Police said it would follow the Pasig court order. It is only waiting for the disposition from the Valenzuela court, said PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo.

Guo was set to appear for an arraignment at the Valenzuela RTC on Friday afternoon.

After this, she will temporarily return to the PNP Custodial Center and undergo a medical examination, before she is transferred to the Pasig jail.

She has denied alleged links to Chinese organized crime.

Meanwhile, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla urged Guo's co-accused surrender to authorities.

“To the remaining co-accused still playing hide-and-seek with authorities, immediately surrender without hesitation or asking any condition, the law will definitely catch-up with you,” Remulla said.
