MANILA (UPDATE) — A former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief may have been involved in Alice Guo's escape from the country, a Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. official told senators Tuesday citing reports from the intelligence community.
During the resumption of the Senate's hearing into illegal POGOs, Sen. Risa Hontiveros asked government agencies about new details on Guo's secret escape from the Philippines in July.
"May pinag-uusapan sa border immigration, hindi ko lang alam ang exact amount [ng bribe], including PNP official [na involved]. Hindi ko lang ma-confirm," said Pagcor's Security Monitoring Cluster head Raul Villanueva, a retired military officer.

(There was talk about border immigration but I don't know the exact amount involved. A PNP official was also supposedly involved, but I have yet to confirm that)

Hontiveros asked if there was a specific PNP unit that facilitated Guo's escape, but Villanuva, citing intel, said they were "PNP personalities."

“Rest assured after ma-finalize any investigation or conclusion we will submit to Committee. Di po namin madi-discredit na part of the investigation is also investigating our own personnel and our own ports of entries and exits. As I mentioned last hearing there’s a possibility it’s yung escape ay nangyari sa aircraft or sea vessels but at this time nakatuon kami sa sea path ng pag-escape ng Guo siblings,” Manahan stated.
