MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday explained why they blurred the mugshots and videos of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and four of those who were apprehended in Davao last Sunday, saying this was not the first time they did this.

“This is not the first time na ang PNP ay naglabas officially ng mga mugshot na tinatakpan natin ang mga mukha,” Police Spokesperson PCol. Jean Fajardo said.

Even ‘yung mga names ay inaalis natin bilang pagtugon sa utos na rin ng Commission on Human Rights – na hangga’t maaari ay takpan naman,” added Fajardo.

Quiboloy was arrested on September 8, 2024 after the PNP and the Armed Forces of the Philippines gave him an ultimatum to surrender within 24 hours, following a raid by the PNP on the Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound in Davao over the past two weeks in an attempt to locate the religious leader.
