The Police Regional Office XI said fugitive pastor Apollo Quiboloy and his co-accused have not been found during their 16-hour search operations on Saturday.

PRO XI director Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III said one of the challenges they encountered in finding the accused individuals is the size of the 30-hectare Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound.

"Kami sa loob nagkakawala-wala eh. Sa laki ng lugar, sa dami ng mga lusutan, kami mismo nagkakawala-wala. Kami nga, nagkakahiwa-hiwalay sa loob," he said.

"So uulit kami bukas, nakita na naman namin ang layout. Uulit kami bukas, hahanapin namin. Ito ay sa tingin ni Mr. Quiboloy ay larong tagu-taguan sa loob ng 30-hectare compound niya," he added.

Around 2,000 policemen were deployed early Saturday morning to raid the compound and find Quiboloy and his cohorts.

Torre said they have only searched about 1/4 of the entire compound.

He also alerted the PNP troops as they have received information from the informants that KOJC members will aid Quiboloy in his escape from the compound.

"Andiyan sa loob. Itatakas ngayong gabi. May information kami na may mga sistema silang pinag-iisipan kung paano ilabas si Mr. Quiboloy," he said.

Former president Rodrigo Duterte, an ally of Quiboloy, criticized the police operations.

"Our country has never been in a more tragic state as it is today. Rights have been trampled upon and our laws, deride," he said in a statement Saturday. "We sympathize with the members of the KoJC for having become victims of political harassment, persecution, violence and abuse of authority. This certainly puts a dark stain on the hands of those involved in today's incident, led by no less than the top police official of the region."

"We call on the remaining decent and patriotic members of our government not to allow themselves to be used and to be abusive and violent in enforcing illegal orders," he added. "Again, let us ask this administration how it can guarantee the preservation of the constitutional rights of our fellow Filipinos when even the most fundamental of these rights are being blatantly violated?"
