MANILA -- Transport group Manibela is planning to push through with its nationwide three-day transport strike beginning on Wednesday, August 14.

Mar Valbuena, president of Manibela, said their members in the provinces will also participate in the protest opposing President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s insistence to implement the Public Transport Modernization Program (PTMP).

"Magmula sa po Baguio, pababa ng Pangasinan, Central Luzon, sa Ilagan at Cauayan sa Isabela, CALABARZON, Western Visayas, Central Visayas sa Cebu at Lapu Lapu, Ormoc, Tacloban, Catbalogan, Iligan Butuan, Cagayan de Oro City, Sarangani and Davao City po," said Valbuena of the participating regions in an interview on Teleradyo Serbisyo on Sunday evening.

Valbuena added they are also meeting with leaders of transport group Piston.

"Maguusap din kami ng mga kasama sa Piston para pareho kaming magkasama sa mga susunod na araw," said the Manibela chief.

Valbuena said they protest in Manila will begin on Wednesday, 6 a.m. at Welcome Rotonda. Their members will march up to Mendiola.

Valbuena said they needed to move the strike to Wednesday, to give their members ample time to prepare.

He added they already applied for a rally permit.
