Except that this is not in Colombia, and instead of a drug lord, the resort in Porac, Pampanga was once the playground of an illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub that was raided recently. Or at least that's what the authorities are slowly piecing together.

The resort is replete with amenities suited for a billionaire, including its own helipad, a man-made lagoon, manicured lawns and rooms that served as a salon, a spa, a KTV bar, and game and entertainment centers.

According to Police Lt. Col. Samuel Quibete, Chief of Police of the Porac Municipal Station, the 2.5 hectare property, declared with just one house inside, has a backyard where the said posh resort is located with several other structures.

According to Quibete, "this was being used as a leisure hub of the POGOs. This is connected to the POGO in Porac that was also the subject of a search warrant," referring to the Grand Palazzo Royale of the Lucky South 99 POGO hub.

"During our implementation of the search warrant, we discovered a hidden portion at the back of the property. They built there an indoor firing range. Upon verification, we found out they had no permit to operate (the firing range). Upon further investigation, we also discovered several slugs that showed the firing range was being used," Quibete further narrated.

One of the mansions had several rooms that can be used for meetings and beneath it, the underground tunnel that runs under the lagoon and leads to a villa in the center of the man-made lagoon that can only be reached through the tunnel.

It can be recalled that the previous raid of the Lucky South 99 illegal POGO operations revealed incorporators and Chinese big bosses are suspected to have been conducting illegal activities, including scam modus, kidnapping, illegal detention, and human and sex trafficking activities.

Quibete said that they have arrested eight caretakers of the said POGO leisure resort in Porac while its incorporators, including Katherine Cassandra Li Ong, remain at-large and are subject for arrest.
