MANILA — The driver of a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) died on the spot on Monday after his vehicle hit a parked trailer truck on the inner lane of M. Lopez Boulevard in Tondo, Manila.

The incident was captured by a CCTV camera of Barangay 39 Zone 3, District 1 in Tondo.

Based in the footage, around 7:59 in the morning, the MPV was seen speeding coming from Zaragoza Street when it hit the trailer truck.

Manila Police District (MPD) spokesperson PMaj. Philipp Ines told ABS-CBN News that the male driver of the MPV died immediately.

Ines said the victim's last known address was in Sampaloc, Manila while the truck driver is from Valenzuela City.

He said investigators are looking into other possibilities, including a sleepy or drunk MPV driver.
