PASIG CITY -- Vice President Sara Duterte on Thursday said she will not serve in any Cabinet post following her resignation as Education Secretary.

"Hindi na ako magseserve in another Cabinet post sa Marcos administration," she told reporters.

Asked about her current relationship with the President, she only answered, "okay naman iyong relationship namin ni Pres. Marcos".

Duterte was Marcos Jr.'s running mate in the 2022 national elections.

She admitted that there were things she had agreed on with Pres. Marcos before she accepted to be his running mate.

Without elaborating on the details, she said these were part of her reasons why she decided to resign as Education Secretary.

"Ano siya, mayroong personal sa aming dalawa ni President Marcos which stems from iyong napag-usapan namin bago ako pumayag na tumakbo  as Vice President. Mayroon siyang sa trabaho, mayroon siyang sa bayan," she said.

"So mahaba siya na kwento and then we will need a sit down," she added.

She clarified that First Lady Liza Marcos had nothing to do with her decision.

"No, kasi wala naman din kinalaman si First Lady sa trabaho namin ni Pang. Marcos," she said.

For now, Duterte said she intends to focus on the programs under the Office of the Vice President.

"Hinahanap natin iyong mga underserved na areas doon sa iba't ibang satellite offices natin. Siyempre andyan pa rin para sa kababaihan, para sa kabataan, at para sa LGBT at senior citizens at PWD," she said.
