MANILA -- Senator Christopher "Bong" Go on Wednesday dismissed social media posts speculating on former president Rodrigo Duterte's condition, stating that they were "fake news."

Go posted photos of the former president eating fruits in his residence in Davao City, as well as a photo of Duterte with his partner, Honeylet Avanceña, in the dining area.

"Alive and Eating!" Go said in a Facebook post.

Last month, Duterte also showed up in Go's Facebook Live amid videos circulating across social media platforms -- notably TikTok -- that the former president had died.

In the video, Duterte said he is just staying at home and relaxing, as he is already retired from politics.

Go also said he will continue to take care of Duterte in his own personal capacity.
