Dandan was divorced and had no children. Her nieces and nephews, however, recalled her as the cool "Tita Cora," the aunt who helped send them to school and fun trips.

Dandan's siblings said she worked hard for years to build a dream home in Tagaytay in the Philippines. She had hoped to retire there where her Fil-Am family could also stay for vacation.

Local leaders also came to pay their respects to Dandan. Daly City Mayor Juslyn Manalo presented a formal commendation to the family in memory of the Fil-Am.

As for the legal proceedings against Belmont, the San Francisco judge hearing the case has delayed anew the arraignment of the suspect.

The San Francisco District Attorney charged Belmont with one count of murder. The complaint also alleged he inflicted great bodily injury on a vulnerable victim, and that he intentionally killed Dandan while lying in wait.
