MANILA -- Former Senator Panfilo Lacson said he's praying over a possible return to the Senate through the 2025 midterm elections.

Lacson served in the Senate from 2001 to 2007, 2007 to 2013 and 2016 to 2022. In 2022, he lost the presidential election to now President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.

At the end of the day, whatever decision you may make para sa future mo, praying over that decision is the best thing to do. Right now ang sagot ko sa tanong mo, I’m right there. I’m praying over whatever decision I will make," Lacson said in an interview.

"Yeah it's in relation to coming back to the Senate," he added.

Lacson said one factor he is considering is the team he left behind in the Senate. Lacson went from National Police chief to one of the foremost vanguards of  public financing as lawmaker.

"Ang isang  parang motivating factor, I want to be very honest about it, yung alam na-inculcate ko sa former Senate staff ko na nakakalat sa ibang opisina, yung value ng hard work at saka integrity sa public service. Yan ang pinaghinayangan ko and yan ang naging bond namin," he said.

"Even now from time to time nagkikita kami, nagpupunta sila sa akin pinag-uusapan namin ginagawa namin,  yung mga late night na trabaho lalo pag budget season. Yan ang pinaghihinayangan ko," Lacson said.
