The president of the Filipino-American National History Society was at the encampment to show solidarity and express support to Fil-Am students who joined the protest.

"The students just really just want justice," he said. "All they want is peace. All they want is to ensure that university funds do not go to further violence, genocide, and the killing of innocent people, especially children."

Nadal said the war in the Middle East should matter to Filipinos and Fil-Ams because of the Philippines' history with colonizers, Spain, and the U.S.
