MANILA — Typhoon Aghon has left one person dead and eight others injured as of Tuesday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said in its latest report.

In its 8 a.m. situational report, the NDRRMC said a 14-year-old female from Misamis Oriental was killed after Aghon’s strong winds toppled a tree.

The NDRRMC noted that Aghon has affected a total of 36,143 people or 12,436 families in 268 barangays in Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas and National Capital Region.

Of the total, 16,426 people or 4,076 families are staying in evacuation centers. The remaining 5,614 people or 1,245 families are staying with friends or relatives.
