The Philippine Navy (PN) said Friday that it test-fired the newly-installed Spike NLOS (Non-Line-of-Sight) missile system on one of its vessels at off Luzon Point in Mariveles, Bataan on April 10.

The Spike NLOS missile system is equipped with advanced electro-optical and infrared sensors and offers day and night operational capabilities, which will be useful in various combat scenarios.

This advanced missile system launched on one of the Navy's Fast Attack Interdiction Craft (FAIC) platforms boasts an impressive range of up to 30 kilometers (approximately 18.6 miles), enabling operators to engage targets with pinpoint accuracy from stand-off distances.

The test-firing activity, witnessed by the Flag Officer In Command, Vice Adm. Toribio Adaci Jr., Navy Vice Commander, Rear Adm. Caesar Bernard Valencia and Philippine Fleet (PF) Commander, Rear Adm. Renato David, was part of the acceptance terms and training deliverables included in the FAIC Acquisition Project.
