MANILA – Women’s groups on Thursday urged the Marcos Jr. administration to stop pushing for Charter Change, as part of their celebration of International Women’s Day.

During a protest at the Bonifacio Shrine, human rights group iDEFEND, along with other women’s groups, called on the government to prioritize women’s needs and improve the living conditions of Filipinos.

Miranda believes that attempts to amend to the constitution will only marginalize women further.

She also said that charter change devalues the efforts made by Filipino heroes to gain the country's independence against foreign rule.
