MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Saturday joined other world leaders in condemning a shooting rampage in Russia that killed at least 115 people in a concert hall.

The Islamic State earlier claimed responsibility for the attack, but Russian officials have yet to acknowledge that the terror group was behind the killing, with some observers noting that IS has yet to show evidence to back their claim.

"I am profoundly saddened by the innocent lives lost in the horrific ISIS attack at the concert hall in Moscow," Marcos Jr. said in a social media post.

"My deepest condolences to the families affected by this senseless act of terrorism," he said.

"We stand united in condemning terrorism in all its forms," he added.

The Department of Foreign Affairs earlier said that  no Filipinos were affected in the gun attack.

The Kremlin has arrested nearly a dozen people who may be connected to the attack, but Russian President Vladimir Putin has yet to comment on the violence that injured over a hundred people.

Aside from the Philippines, other nations that condemned the concert shooting include the United States, France, Spain and Italy.

Ukraine — which is at war with Russia — has distanced itself from the shooting incident, saying its offensive against Moscow is limited to battlefields.
