Despite several weather-related setbacks, SpaceX and NASA successfully launched the PACE satellite atop a Falcon 9 rocket early Thursday. PACE, short for Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud, ocean Ecosystem, aims to study the exchange of carbon dioxide between the ocean and atmosphere, monitor air quality, and assess Earth's climate. This marks the first US government mission in over 60 years to target a polar orbit from Cape Canaveral, following a hiatus since 1960 due to safety concerns stemming from a debris incident in Havana, according to Spaceflight Now.
