MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte said Tuesday she would rather focus on development projects in Mindanao rather than comment on the proposed separation of Mindanao from the rest of the Philippines.
MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte said Tuesday she would rather focus on development projects in Mindanao rather than comment on the proposed separation of Mindanao from the rest of the Philippines.
“Wala akong comment sa pulitika because everyone can go their way sa politics,” she told reporters in Malaysia.
“But sa development projects naman doon sa Mindanao ay tinututukan natin. Kamakailan lang andoon si Pangulong Marcos sa Davao City para iprisinta ang transport modernization ng Davao City and of course iyong iba pang development projects sa iba pang lugar sa Mindanao,” she added
Her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, has been calling for Mindanao's secession, even as he also opposed the people’s initiative to amend the Constitution.

He also instructed Davao del Norte Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez to start soliciting signatures for Mindanao's secession.
