Almost 2 weeks after a barge carrying 11000 MT of coal ran aground in San Salvador Island Marine Sancturay, coal still litters the coast of the island which has a marine sanctuary and is part of the Masinloc Oyon bay Protected Landscape and Seascape in Masinloc, Zambales on November 6, 2024.

Residents are calling for prompt action from government agencies to abate further damage to the marine environment and assistance to locals affected by the coal spill.
