Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday (November 15) described her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, as a "dramatic actor" after his participation in the House quad-committee investigation into his administration's anti-drug campaign.

Speaking with reporters on the sidelines of the 89th founding anniversary celebration of the Office of the Vice President, Sara recalled telling the elder Duterte that she would rate his "performance" 12 out of 10, saying he was the "best dramatic actor."

Asked to explain her rating, Sara said: "Kayo na lang 'yung umintindi, nakikita niyo naman sa ginagawa niya, e. Kitang-kita!"

The younger Duterte also explained her surprise appearance at the joint panel's hearing, where she was seen urging the former chief executive to rest as the proceedings reached late night.

She said she went there to look after her father and convince him to be excused due to health concerns.

“Nagsimula ‘yung araw niya 6 a.m. and mga around 10:30 p.m. na ata ‘yun. Sinabi ng ano na baka low blood sugar na. Eh hindi kumakain… Naniwala naman siya nung sinabi namin na kumain na muna siya,” the vice president explained.

“Usually kasi hindi siya nakikinig sa mga kasama niya, so humihingi sila ng tulong sa ’kin kung anong isabi, pagsabihan,” she added.

When asked about her thoughts on the House quad comm proceedings, she claimed the inquiry did not observe uniform rules.

Duterte earlier said she did not expect fairness to be accorded to her father.

“As a lawyer, hindi mo na talaga maintindihan kung anong rules ang ginagamit sa mga hearings. And they use ‘inquiry’ and ‘investigation’ interchangeably. So hindi mo alam if it’s an inquiry, you’re a resource person. If it’s an investigation, you’re a witness or an accused,” the Vice President said.
