MANILA (UPDATED) -- Former president Rodrigo Duterte was seen gesturing his fist at former senator Leila de Lima during the November 13 House quad-committee hearing, following the latter's manifestation about his pronouncement of taking "full responsibility" for his anti-drug campaign, and his apparent refusal to say her name during the proceedings.

De Lima was incarcerated for nearly seven years following accusations implicating her in the illegal drug trade at the National Bilibid Prison. Her accusers later retracted their claims, leading to the dismissal of the charges against her.

Asked by House Quad Comm Co-Chair Rep. Dan Fernandez if he believes that de Lima is the "mother of all drug lords," Duterte said: "I would like to congratulate them for making the statement."

In response, De Lima said: "Absolutely false. That is a fictitious, bogus, allegation against me."

"I was cleared of all three drug cases...  Dumaan po ako sa buong proseso kahit mahirap, masakit para sa akin, kinulong ako ng almost seven years na hindi na po nila 'yan mababalikan, dahil sa pagka-galit no’ng pinaka-mastermind ng 'pag persecute sa akin," she added.

Duterte sat beside De Lima, one of his fiercest critics, during the committee hearing into extrajudicial killings and his bloody war on drugs on Wednesday.

Duterte and De Lima first attended a Senate hearing on his administration's war on drugs on October 28 where they were just one seat apart. Wednesday marked the first time they attended the House quad comm hearing together. -- with reports from Rowegie Abanto and Vivienne Gulla, ABS-CBN News
