MANILA — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said the agency is continuing to provide aid to Filipinos affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine and Typhoon Leon as disaster response operations continue on All Saints’ Day.

DSWD spokesperson Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao said the agency continues to serve those still in evacuation centers in the provinces of Albay, Camarines Sur, Masbate, Sorsogon, Antique, Iloilo, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Biliran, Western Samar, Northern Samar, Zamboanga, and Mountain Province

“As we speak, mahigit 5,000 family food packs en route to Batanes via PCG vessel at inaasahan natin na ito ay darating tonight or early morning tomorrow. Gayundin ay hinahanda na ang around 7,000 food packs, na ililipad naman via C130,” she added.

As of 6 p.m. Thursday, the agency has distributed over 890,000 food packs in various areas of the country, while it has prepositioned over 1.3 million packs.
