MANILA --A Chinese woman went berserk at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 early Friday morning.

The PNP Aviation Security said the woman threw her things at the departure area, laid down on the driveway, and attempted to jump off the departure area.

The arrival of airport guards and other law enforcers prevented the foreigner from inflicting harm on herself.

It was learned that immigration authorities prevented the woman from leaving the Philippines because she failed to present an exit clearance, a government requirement for all exiting foreign workers.

She was among the POGO workers who volunteered to leave the Philippines as President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered the closure of all POGO operations.

Marcos: 'Effective today, all POGOs are banned'

The woman, through an interpreter, said she wanted to leave the Philippines but does not have enough money to pay for her exit clearance.

She is now facing public scandal charges. Airport authorities are also coordinating with the Chinese embassy regarding her case. - report from Raoul Esperas
