MANILA — Tropical storm "Kristine" has maintained its strength as it moves closer to the Philippines, according to PAGASA.

In its 11 p.m. advisory Tuesday, PAGASA said the center of the storm was last seen 345 km east northeast of Daet, Camarines Norte, moving northwestward at 10 km per hour.

"Kristine" sustained its winds of 75 km per hour near the center with a gustiness of up to 90 km per hour.

PAGASA Weather Forecaster Benison Estareja also said "Kristine" may also intensify to a severe tropical storm before it is expected to make a landfall in the coming days.

The state weather bureau is set to issue its next advisory at 5:00 a.m. on October 23, 2024.
