MANILA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said Sunday it is releasing to the public the Certificate of Candidacy (COC) and Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA) of those running for office in the 2025 elections.

According to the Commission, they decided to release the documents in their website for the public to scrutinize the candidates.

"Ilalabas natin ang lahat ng mga COC ng 44,000 na kandidato sa Pilipinas. At the same time, 'yung mga CONA ng mga partylist nominees ay atin ding ilalabas sa website ng Comelec upang malaman nila kung sino ba 'yang tumatakbo na 'yan," Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia said in TeleRadyo Serbisyo's Story Outlook.
"Ilalabas natin ang lahat ng mga COC ng 44,000 na kandidato sa Pilipinas. At the same time, 'yung mga CONA ng mga partylist nominees ay atin ding ilalabas sa website ng Comelec upang malaman nila kung sino ba 'yang tumatakbo na 'yan," Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia said in TeleRadyo Serbisyo's Story Outlook.

Garcia added that with this move, the public may be able to help the Comelec discover possible grounds for disqualification in the applicants.

"Ang Comelec di namin kakilala ang lahat [ng tumatakbo]. Kikilos kami kung mayroon ding responding action ang mamamayan. Katulad ng nangyari sa Bamban. Nung una nasisi kami bakit daw hindi namin dinisqualify, eh syempre hindi naman namin kilala lahat ng tumatakbo sa buong Pilipinas," Garcia said.

"Sana po 'yung mga kababayan natin ay titingnan din nila 'yung mga ilalabas nating listahan. Tingnan po nila kung sino 'yung mga nominees kung sino sa kanila ang sa palagay nila hindi naman dapat makatakbo 'yang mga 'yan marapat sa kanila ang makuwestiyon."
