Barangay Rizal is one of the 10 barangays which were formerly part of Makati City and were turned over to the city of Taguig in August after the Supreme Court ruling giving Taguig jurisdiction over The Fort.

Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia in a late afternoon news briefing Wednesday disclosed this unanimous decision of the Commission en Banc, thereby ending questions on whether or not EMBO residents can also vote for congressman in the 2025 elections.These voters can also vote for City Council positions.&quot;They can now vote for the members of the House of Representatives for the first and second district... sa 2025 at sa susunod na halalan (they can vote), unless there would be a law, that perhaps they create a third district in Taguig.
