MANILA — The Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality has formally written letters to the 2 courts handling the cases of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy so he can be allowed to attend the panel's hearing on Oct. 23.

The panel, helmed by Sen. Risa Hontiveros, asked Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 159 Judge Elma Mendoza Rafallo-Lingan and Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 106 Judge Noel Parel to make Quiboloy appear in their probe into his alleged crimes against some women and children members of KOJC.

The hearing is a continuation of a previous investigation covering the alleged wrongdoings of Quiboloy, who is facing sex abuse and human trafficking cases.

"Quiboloy allegedly maintains a stable of women called 'pastorals' who occupy a prestigious position in the organization because they are tasked to perform special personal tasks and errands for him," Hontiveros said earlier.

The panel held hearings on January 23, February 19 and March 5. It stopped while waiting for Quiboloy to be arrested to attend the hearings.
