MANILA - "Raise your children better."

This was what Filipino Olympian, politician, and actor Monsour del Rosario had to say to the parents of the Ateneo junior high school student who was caught on camera kicking, punching and bullying schoolmates.

In a statement, Del Rosario reprimanded the parents and urged everyone to raise their children to be better.

"Yes, none of us are perfect—we've all made our mistakes and should not judge people loosely. But to the parents of the bully, let's be very clear here, this is as firm a judgement as you will ever get from me: Your son is a failed representation of our beautiful sport [taekwondo]," he said.

"Every aspect of the viral video was hideous, weak and unacceptable. Raise your children better. Let's all raise our children to be better. Let's raise our sons—particularly those in the martial arts—to be good men."

A taekwondo champion, Del Rosario has competed in several international competitions, including the 1988 Seoul Olympics, the Southeast Asian Games, the Asian Games, the World Taekwondo Championships and the Asian Taekwondo Championships.

The Philippine Taekwondo Association has condemned the bullying incident, saying it does not tolerate any form of misbehavior.

"This is not what Taekwondo instills to its practitioners and is a serious matter that we as an association stand against," it said.

The Ateneo de Manila University said an investigation is ongoing and that it "will not hesitate to impose the penalty of dismissal or even expulsion in cases of grave misconduct."
