MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte and his long-time aide Bong Go recently visited Eduardo Manalo, head of the influential sect Iglesia Ni Cristo.

Photos released by the Palace Wednesday show Duterte and Go paying a visit to Manalo, the sect's executive minister, last Dec. 14 at the INC Central Temple in Quezon City.

No other details of the visit were released by the Palace.

Duterte had appointed Manalo as special envoy for OFW concerns in February. He will serve the post until Jan. 29, 2019.

Poll candidates vie for INC’s support every election season as the sect is known to vote as a bloc and could deliver a win to an aspiring politician.

Go is running for Senate in 2019.
