MANILA - Isang magarbong welcome gala dinner ang idinaos ng Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) para sa mga sports officials ng bansa.

Dinaluhan ito ng mga opisyal ng Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, International Olympic Committee, pati na rin ang ilang miyembro ng gabinete.

Ayon PHISGOC, ang naturang gala ang highlight ng lahat ng social events sa SEA Games.

Tampok dito ang mga dekalibreng mang-aawit sa bansa, gaya ng Broadway star na si Rachelle Ann Go.

Muli namang humingi ng paumanhin si PHISGOC Chairman at House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano sa mga naunang problema sa hosting ng Pilipinas.

Binigyang diin ni Cayetano na pinapahalagahan ng Pilipinas ang mga atleta ng ibang bansa tulad ng sarili nitong mga atleta.

"If there were any inconveniences that were suffered at the start, please accept our apologies. Your athletes are as important to us as our athletes."

Samantala, umiwas naman si PHISGOC COO Ramon Suzara sa isyu ng umano'y taped na pagsindi ng cauldron sa opening ceremony kagabi.

"It's a television show. So whether it's taped or recorded or you know, it doesn't matter," ani Suzara.

Hindi niya kinumpirma kung live o taped nga ba ang pagsindi sa cauldron.

Sa isang panayam sa ANC, sinabi ng tagapagsalita ng PHISGOC na hindi naman bawal na i-tape ang pagsindi sa cauldron.

"Assuming it was taped, there was no express prohibition in the ASEAN federation as to the timing of the lighting," ayon kay Jarie Osias, PHISGOC spokesman.
