CAVITE - President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday said there will be changes in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), noting the current setup makes him uncomfortable.

He issued the statement after discussing the necessity for uniformed personnel to carry firearms even in civilian outfit.

"At least may sense of security kayo… Because maybe you are a moving target or you are a prospective victim," he said in a speech during the 35th founding anniversary of the Philippine Army Reserve Command at the Camp General Mariano Riego de Dios in Tanza, Cavite.

"I am not privileged to announce it, but there will be some changes in the reorganization. Konti lang naman. The commanders would explain it to you. And I decided last night na there has to be some changes. I am not comfortable anymore of the setup because it has cost a lot of --- my soldiers’ lives,” Duterte added. - report from Vivienne Gulla, ABS-CBN News
