BUTUAN CITY - A van accidentally crashed into the sidewalk of the Magsaysay Bridge in Butuan City Saturday morning.

No injuries were reported in the road mishap, which was allegedly caused by brake failure, according to police.

Driver Emeberto Pedros said he realized that the vehicle's brakes were not working while driving to Butuan City. The van ended up hitting the sidewalk section of the bridge.

Pedros, however, denied that he was speeding and tried to overtake another vehicle, insisting that he lost control of the van after its brakes malfunctioned.
