MANILA – Tropical depression “Tino” made landfall in Palawan 5 p.m. Friday as it continued to move towards the West Philippine Sea, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

In its 8 p.m. advisory, PAGASA said Tino is packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.

Tropical cyclone warning signal number 1 remains hoisted over Palawan.

PAGASA warned residents in Palawan of possible landslides and flash floods and advised that sea travel is risky due to moderate to rough seas.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rains may be expected over Visayas, Bicol region, Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

The tropical depression was last spotted 40 kms northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

It is forecast to move west northwest at 28 kph, and exit the Philippine area of responsibility by Saturday morning.
