MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed a new lead convenor of the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) and chairman of the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP), Malacañang said Tuesday.

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said Noel Felongco, currently PCUP’s chairman, will replace Liza Maza as NAPC lead convenor.

Maza resigned from the Cabinet as she complained of “harassment” over the issuance of arrest warrants against her and three other former House lawmakers for a 14-year-old double murder case, which a Nueva Ecija court dismissed in August.

Meanwhile, Alvin San Juan Feliciano, currently deputy director-general of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, will replace Felongco as PCUP head.

Prior to his appointment to the NAPC, Felongco had replaced Terry Ridon as head of the urban poor body.

Duterte fired Ridon and other PCUP officials over alleged junkets.

Meanwhile, Duterte appointed Charmalou Aldevera as assistant secretary at the Office of the President. Aldevera is the legal counsel of pastor Apollo Quiboloy, a close friend of the President.
