MANILA—As the observance All Saints Day and All Souls Day concluded, Metro Manila's top cop said cemetery visits in his jurisdiction were trouble free.

"Masasabi natin na peaceful and orderly 'yung mga bisita natin sa iba't ibang sementeryo," acting National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas told radio DZMM on Saturday.

According to NCRPO, at least 1,376,540 people were at cemeteries on Friday, Nov. 1.

On Saturday, Nov. 2, police estimated that at least 176,066 visitors were at cemeteries and columbaria in Metro Manila as of 2 p.m.

Sinas said crime incidents between Monday, Oct. 28, and Friday went down from the same period last year.

"Bumaba po 'yung crime natin ng 20 percent. Last year, ang naitala nating crime volume is 165. Sa ngayon, ang naitala natin is 113," he said.

Most of the crimes committed in the incidents were theft, robbery and physical injuries, Sinas said.
