Soldiers from the 2nd Scout Ranger Battalion Special Operations Command were given a heroes' welcome upon arriving at Barangay Panacan as they made their way back to the Eastern Mindanao Command headquarters.

Residents welcomed the soldiers with hugs and kisses. Some even gave them flowers and flaglets.

The 2nd Scout Ranger Battalion had been assigned to Eastern Mindanao Command but were later deployed to Basilan, Sulu, Zamboanga, and recently to Marawi to help in the fight against ISIS-linked extremists.
