MANILA - The Department of Foreign Affairs announced Sunday that all consular offices nationwide will be closed on October 16 due to the nationwide transport strike.

The DFA however, said passport applicants with confirmed appointments on Monday may be accommodated on any day until October 30 at their original site without needing to apply for a new appointment.

The DFA advises applicants to bring a printout of their confirmed passport appointment along with other requirements for their passport application.

Transport groups will hold a nationwide strike on Monday and Tuesday to protest the government's jeepney modernization plan.
