MANILA -- (2ND UPDATE) A hostage-taking incident has been reported at the SM Dasmariñas mall in Cavite on Sunday, prompting a lockdown of the establishment.

The incident was caused by a married couple's domestic problem, Dasmariñas police chief Rodolfo Hernandez and the mall management both confirmed.

The 32-year-old suspect, identified as Carlo Marcus Lacdao, arrived at the mall looking for his wife, Erna.

Police said Lacdao suddenly stabbed Jollabelle Sumalin and two unidentified men, before using a kitchen knife to hostage another woman, identified as Mylene Balajadia.
