DIPOLOG CITY – The local government here will soon open a food terminal where farmers may display their agricultural products.
The food terminal will accommodate vegetables, root crops, spices, and other agricultural products that farmers used to sell in the market.
It is expected to decongest the city market, currently crammed with dry goods stalls, mostly surplus clothing shops.
“The area is big and, at least, the fish port will really be utilized for our fresh catch from our fishermen,” said city agriculturist Kerr Porlas.

A cold storage will also be built to keep the products fresh.
Farmers producing organic products are also expected to display their produce at the food terminal, giving consumers more choices other than conventional farm products.
The local government targets to complete the facility within 2 months.
