MANILA (UPDATE) —The House of Representatives and the Senate on Wednesday ratified a bill that will grant additional maternity leave benefits to parents, paving the way for its transmittal to President Rodrigo Duterte for his signature.

The consolidated version of the measure was approved by the bicameral conference committee on Monday.

The Expanded Maternity Leave Bill will provide 105 days of paid maternity leave credits to all working mothers, with 7 days transferable to fathers.

Meanwhile, an additional 15 days will be granted to single mothers. Under the measure, which applies to all instance of pregnancies, removing the 4-pregnancy cap. -- Report from RG Cruz, ABS-CBN News
