MANILA - The Philippine National Police (PNP) has released a mobile app that allows the public to get updates about the government's war against drugs, latest modus operandi, and other "front-line services" of the police department.

"iSerbis is a response President Rodrigo Duterte's SONA 2016 directive to make use of information technology to reduce red tape and boost over-all anti-crime efforts," PNP-Information Technology Management Service Director, Chief Superintendent Edwin Jose Nemenzo said.

iSerbis provides users the latest statistics about the government's efforts to combat narcotics via a set of infographics.

The app also gives a step-by-step process on how to avail several PNP services such as the processing of permits for firearms and explosives, motor vehicle clearance and alarms, and how to apply for the PNP recruitment program.

The app is linked to other existing PNP mobile services such as the "Itaga Mo Sa Bato", "Bantay-Krimen", and apps of other government agencies.

A list of emergency hotline numbers and current modus such as "Laglag Barya", "Ipit Taxi", and "Salisi" schemes are also featured in the app.

iSerbis is available for both iOS and Android devices, and may be downloaded through Apple Store and Google Play.
