MANILA- Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat continues to enjoy President Rodrigo Duterte's trust despite his son Paolo's criticism of her, a Cabinet official said Friday.

Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte on Thursday night said he has received complaints regarding Puyat's "management style" of the Department of Tourism.

But unlike Paolo's view of Puyat, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said the President remains "all praises" for the tourism chief.

"All praises, very warm. He (Duterte) is happy with the work of Sec. Berna so far," Nograles told reporters at Malacañang.

"Alam naman natin na maganda naman 'yung mga ginagawa ni Sec. Berna as far as tourism is concerned,"he said.

(We know that Sec. Berna is doing a good job as far as tourism is concerned.)

Puyat, however, has yet to respond to Paolo's comments.

Nograles added that he is unaware of any complaints against Puyat, and defended her leadership of the tourism department.

"Wala naman reklamo kay Sec. Berna. Mabilis naman umaksyon. Masipag naman. Maganda naman 'yung mga projects ng DOT under her right now," he said.

(There are no complaints against Sec. Berna. She acts fast, works hard, and the projects of the DOT under her are good.)

President Duterte appointed Puyat as tourism chief in May 2018 following the resignation of Wanda Teo over a questionable ₱60 million tourism advertisement deal.
