MANILA - Senator Manny Pacquiao is now the chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics.

During Tuesday's plenary session, Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri moved to elect Pacquiao as chairman of the committee.

Since there were no objections, the motion was approved and Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto III announced Pacquiao as the new chairman of the Senate panel.

Senator Grace Poe was also elected as a new member of the committee but Zubiri later corrected the motion since Poe was already a member. The Senate body elected Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian instead.
