MANILA - Monsoon rains will dampen parts of Luzon and Visayas on Sunday, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
The southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat, will bring scattered rains over Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Mimaropa, Calabarzon, and Western Visayas, according to PAGASA weather specialist Gener Quitlong.
Fair weather is expected to prevail over the rest of the country.
PAGASA said a shallow low-pressure area spotted in the West Philippine Sea exited the country at 2 a.m. Sunday.
Tropical depression Marilyn, meantime, weakened into a low-pressure area as it left the Philippine area of responsibility on Saturday evening.
