MANILA - State weather bureau PAGASA warned early Saturday morning of possible flooding in Zambales, Bataan, Metro Manila and nearby provinces due to heavy rains spawned by Typhoon Ompong.

In its 6 a.m. rainfall warning, PAGASA placed Zambales and Bataan under a red-level alert. Serious flooding is expected in flood-prone areas.

An orange-level alert was raised in Metro Manila, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, and Rizal.

An orange warning means there will be 15-30mm of intense rain observed in 1 hour, which is expected to continue in the next 2 hours.
