A passenger vessel fails to go on voyage for its first trip of the day to Zamboanga City after its ramp gave way when loading a truck carrying lumber at the port of Basilan in Isabela City.

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Around 300 passengers were stranded in Isabela City in Basilan after a commercial vessel stayed at port Tuesday morning.

M/V Stephanie Marie failed to sail on its first trip for the day to Zamboanga City after its forward ramp gave way when loading a truck carrying lumber.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Coast Guard Zamboanga Station is closely monitoring the entry of a typhoon on Wednesday in case it needs to immediately cancel trips due to bad weather.

Station Commander Lt. Noriel Ramos said all teams are on alert.
