MANILA — A magnitude 5.0 quake struck Surigao del Norte Monday night, Phivolcs said.
The tectonic quake struck at 7:57 p.m. and had a depth of 1 kilometer.
Its epicenter was located 86 kilometers northeast of Burgos town.
Intensity 4, which may feel like the passing of a heavy truck and may cause hanging objects to swing considerably, was felt in Burgos town.
Intensity 3, which may feel like vibration from the passing of a light truck, was felt in Santa Monica town, while Intensity 2, which can cause hanging objects to swing slightly, was felt in Surigao City.
Instrumental Intensity 1 was also reported in Palo, Leyte.
Phivolcs said no damage nor aftershocks are expected.
