CEBU CITY - Close to 5,000 devotees joined the annual Walk with Mary in Cebu City, early Saturday morning.
The walk started at Fuente Osmeña Circle then to the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral, where 27 carriages with different images of the Blessed Virgin Mary were featured.
Holding candles, devotees also prayed the Holy Rosary during the walk.
In a mass that followed, Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma urged churchgoers to follow Mary’s footsteps.

“Walk with Mary” is an annual event organized by the Diocese of Cebu to commemorate the birth of the Blessed Virgin.
No untoward incident was recorded during the event, the Cebu City Police Office said.
