MANILA—Senator Antonio Trillanes IV shrugged off the challenge made by actor Robin Padilla to surrender to authorities after his amnesty was voided.

"Parang bata. It's too petty," he told reporters outside his office in the Senate building, where the senator is currently in custody.

"We're dealing with national problems here tapos you have immature people like that."

The senator is facing arrest after President Rodrigo Duterte voided his grant of amnesty for allegedly failing to apply it into writing.

Padilla went live on Facebook Tuesday and challenged Trillanes to face arrest over his role in 2 military uprisings.

In his 20-minute video, Padilla said he is willing to accompany the senator.

"Kung gusto mo, samahan kita 'tol, kung natatakot kang makulong. Total, sanay din naman akong makulong," he said. - with reports from Michael Delizo, ABS-CBN News
